This week, we are reading The Pigeon Loves Things That Go! by Mo Willems. I cannot tell you how excited I was when I found out there are Pigeon board books! Pigeon books (really, any Mo Willems book!) are always a hit at my school library. The Pigeon board books are referred to as a "smidgeon of Pigeon". Cute, right?
As you may have guessed, The Pigeon Loves Things That Go! covers different forms of transportation. Smidgeon is an accurate description of this book as it's very short and not particularly meaty.
However, it's probably the only board book we have read that has made me laugh out loud. The babies certainly won't understand why it's funny for a long time but soon they will be able to recognize trains, planes, and other things that go. And since I love Pigeon books, it's a nice introduction to this character (and a cameo from the Duckling).
