Crafty Mama: Easy Toddler Sticker Valentines

The babies are finally interested in *some* arts and crafts projects so I have been taking full advantage of Valentine's Day coming up to do arts and crafts with them. The first project we did was sticker Valentines.

The idea for these valentines came from an impulse purchase of approximately one million Valentine-themed foam stickers from Target. I know, an impulse purchase at Target - whoever heard of such a thing? The stickers were all pretty and pink and glittery, so I just had to get them.

Just getting the sticky sticker off their finger onto the paper was tricky but they did it! These sticker valentines could also be easily combined with painted paper, coloring, glitter, sequins, etc. for a multimedia project. At 18 months old, these guys aren't quite ready for that (and I'm not quite ready for that level of mess!) but I am looking forward to projects like that.

That also entertained them for a while. When they were playing with the stickers, I was adding "Happy Valentine's Day!" to their stickered papers (thank goodness I got my hand-lettering guide in the mail recently - hopefully my future cards will have fancier writing!). Now we will be sending them out to family this week!
