5 Bookish Instagram Accounts to Follow

After leaving the library world to stay home, one of the things I missed was talking about books with other book lovers. I used to know all the latest and greatest books because it was my job. I had other librarians to talk to, professional journals to read through, and time in the day to research great books.

While being home, I've turned to other places to find book recommendations and talk about books. It turns out there are A LOT of other book lovers on Instagram and it is a wonderful place to learn about new books, read reviews, and talk about books. I get so many ideas for what to read with the babies! Here are five of my favorite picture book loving Instagrammers to follow:

5 bookish Instagram accounts to follow if you have kids, love picture books, kidlit, children's books, libraries, or arts and crafts.

Happily.Ever.Elephants is a mama of two boys, an attorney turned library media specialist, and she knows her books! Her feed is beautiful and she always has fantastic and detailed recommendations.

Book.Nerd.Mommy is someone I recently came across and I love her feed! She was also a teacher and not only does she share amazing books, she also does a lot of crafts related to them. It's so fun to see what she is up to.

Kidsbookstagram is a collection of pictures tagged with #kidsbookstagram and #yeskidsbookstagram. I love this one because it's a lot of different people's book pics!

KidLitPicks is a monthly kid lit book club. Each month has a different theme (for example, February's is Love and Kindness). You can join the fun by tagging your own book pics with #kidlitpicks. They have rotating moderators, all of whom have bookish accounts themselves.

KidArtLit is brought to you by Chickadee.Lit (another book lover) and her creative and artsy pal, JuliaLinsteadt. This account features a weekly theme and shares pictures of books and the art projects that go along with them. Tag your pictures with #kidartlit to join in!

On Instagram I share a lot of the books we are reading including board books for babies, picture books, and lunch reads, which are {almost} daily books I read aloud over lunch. Follow me @thistwinlife!

Leave a comment with anyone I else I should be following in the children's book world!
